CRS (Control Room Solution)

CRS stands for ‘Control Room Solution’, which is a new LifeX application. The LifeX application is used for critical communication between Emergency Control Room dispatchers and Operational Crews in the field. It integrates with various systems.

The CRS is part of ARP’s national deployment of a new LifeX application, to replace the current DS2000 Integrated Command and Control System (ICCS). The CRS LifeX application is a highly resilient national solution utilised throughout all Ambulance Services in England, Wales and Scotland to provide critical communications from the Emergency Control Room dispatchers to the Operational Crew in the field.

The LifeX solution will integrate with both the existing Airwave solution, and the Emergency Services Network (ESN) once this becomes available. Due to delays in the deployment of ESN there is also a requirement for ARP to integrate LifeX to Airwave via the legacy control room interface (Centracom) and its successor interface (Dispatch Communication Server) once Centracom becomes obsolete.
