ARP join Ordnance Survey for HRH Princess Royal Visit
The Ambulance Radio Programme (ARP) were thrilled to be invited to Ordnance Survey’s (OS) inaugural Emergency Services Showcase earlier this week, to join Police, Fire, Ambulance, HM Coastguard, Mountain Rescue and Military colleagues during a visit from The Princess Royal. Her Royal Highness was given an exclusive preview of the exciting new OS Emergency Services Gazetteer. This is a new OS product which has been in high demand and keenly anticipated by the emergency services; it is due to be launched in spring. Each service present, including ARP, were able to demonstrate to Her Royal Highness how the cutting edge OS mapping location data is used in operations across the Emergency Services Sector to support and enable a resilient and safe platform.
Duncan Bray – ARP Director: “This is first time ARP have had the opportunity to showcase what we are delivering across the Ambulance Services to a member of the Royal family who was alongside other dignitaries such as the High Sheriff of Hampshire, the Mayor of Test Valley, Chief Constable and Chief Fire Officer. HRH Princess Anne spent time with ARP team asking questions about the national mobilisation application and interested to hear about the challenges we face during a national rollout. Special thanks to Ordnance Survey for involving ARP into the Royal Visit this week at their HQ in Southampton.”
ARP are approaching 2000 Front-Line Ambulances installed with the new solution, and fitting over 100 vehicles per week so a huge credit to our team and our suppliers working together to make this happen.
